Our Struggles Duck Hunting with Bella

Our struggles duck hunting with Bella: we took her into a flooded woods with a bunch of birds, and had a great shoot, but encountered a bunch of issues that we show from the hunt. The terrain was awfully tough for any dog, and duck hunting with a young gun dog in it proved to be too much for Bella. She shut down. My anger and frustration made it worse, and we ultimately had her just watch. One point we wanted to make with this video is how easily things can be portrayed, particularly on social media platforms, depending on how the individuals decide to tell the story.

We put this hunt together two ways in an effort to show that. One thing we have made a point of doing from the start is to show you the good, the bad, and the ugly because we feel there is more value in that than simply sharing what looks good. It’s not always comfortable and easy to share that, but I think it’s the best way to provide viewers with a complete understanding of the training process. Everyone struggles, not everyone shows it. This particular video will be heavy on struggles, but we will continue to improve because of it, and I look forward to sharing future videos that will demonstrate how we can apply what we’ve learned, and show improvement both on the dogs part and mine.
